Telluride Colorado Weather & Seasons

Telluride Colorado
> Weather

Telluride’s high altitude means weather conditions can change rapidly, but sunny days are frequent (think 300 a year) and the winters aren’t cold enough to make your bones freeze.

Summer
Tellurde's weather in summer is characterized by sunny and warm mornings and mid- afternoons, and often cloudy and stormy afternoons and evenings. Expect to wear shorts and T-shirts during the day, but keep a sweatshirt and jeans close by when the sun goes down. The warmest month of the year is July with an average high of 76 degrees and a low of 51 degrees.

Fall
Fall brings cooler temperatures and absolutely spectacular color to the mountain foliage in the last weeks of September. Although town is relatively slow-paced during this time, it can be the perfect time to cash in on some cheap lodging deals and enjoy the scenery. Expect the high temperature to be between 55 and 65 degrees, with the low between 34 and 44 degrees. There is always a chance of snow once October comes around.

Winter
Although the air can reach frigid temperatures in winter, sunny days are still frequent and week-long cold spells are few and far between. The coldest month is January with an average low of 16 degrees, and the average high from November through March is about 37 degrees. March is the wettest month of the year, which also makes it the most likely to dish out powder days!

Spring
Spring in Telluride features dramatically warming temperatures with a few strong spring snowstorms. May has an average high of 61 degrees, an increase of 10 degrees from April. Conditions can be a bit wet from the annual snow runoff, but when the trails dry up spring is a great time to start exploring the mountains.
