Snow Tubing

Telluride Ski Resort is one of those ski areas that actually has a designated area for snow tubing. The whole family – children and adults who like to act like children – can have a great time sliding down the groomed run on board an inflated round tube. Hey, this is really fun – for every one!

Some ski resorts offer courses devoted solely to tubing and Telluride Ski Resort is one of them. This course has an area defined by side barriers that keeps the tubes on a safe course. Known as Thrill Hill, the snow tube course is located at the base of Lift 2 and accessible by foot from Mountain Village. The area is only open during the afternoons and early evenings and only during the winter months.

Thrill Hill is appropriately named as the low amount of friction between most of the snow tubes and the snow allows the rider to reach considerably high speeds while riding – depending on the steepness of the slope. The circular shape of the tube creates some spinning and makes control of the tube rather difficult.

Come to Telluride, Colorado and take a few runs on well groomed trails and then top off the day by taking a spinning, tubular ride down Thrill Hill!
