Tennis

The game of tennis has been a part of our culture for a long, long time. Playing this great game is even more fun, but perhaps harder to concentrate on, when you are surrounded by mountain splendor in Telluride, Colorado. There are several public tennis courts and many of the resorts have private tennis courts.

Tennis anyone? According to those who are supposed to know such things, this phrase is a caricature of so-called upper class behavior in England in the 1920s. Used in plays at the time, it has become a part of our modern culture. Meant to be a slur against the uncaring upper class, it was thought to be a way of saying "I don't worry about things outside my small circle?".

However, if you use the phrase "Tennis anyone?" in Telluride, Colorado, you may simply be inviting family and/or friends to join you in a great game on one of the public tennis courts or one of the many private tennis courts in the area. Of course, your serve may suffer, as well as your returns, because each time you look upward, your attention will be diverted to the spectacular scenery of snow-capped mountains, and bright, clear blue skies.
