Built in 1927, Ouray Natural Hot Springs Pool was constructed as a means to attract more tourists to the community. The Pool opened on July 4, 1927 to a record crowd of locals and visitors alike.
The public pool at the hot springs ranges from 250 to 150 feet and contains over a million gallons of crystal clear natural hot springs water, free from the strong smell of sulfur typical of many hot springs. In addition to several soaking sections at a variety of temperatures ranging from 96 to 106 degrees, the pool has a lap swimming section, a diving area, a large slide, shallow section for younger children and a game area for water volleyball.
The adjoining bathhouse has a full range of conveniences including showers, hair dryers, and a playpen and changing table for infants. Adjacent to the Ouray Hot Springs Pool is a 1/4-mile running track, tennis courts, playground, softball diamond, horseshoe pit, barbecue grills and picnic tables.
Come and spend the whole day with family and friends enjoying a day of old-fashioned fun surrounded by the stunning beauty of the towering San Juan Mountains at Ouray Hot Springs Pool, or finish off that special day with a soak in the rejuvenating waters.
