Every September, the bands, the fans, and the barrels of beer roll into Telluride Town Park for the annual Telluride Blues & Brews Festival. The Festival is a three-day celebration of live blues, funk, rock, gospel and soul performances, hosting 20 plus nationally touring bands, and over 50 of the best microbreweries in the country.

The 18th Annual Telluride Blues & Brews Festival will feature headliners Willie Nelson, The Flaming Lips, and Big Head Todd and the Monsters. Additional performances include The Robert Cray Band, Zappa Plays Zappa, moe., Marcia Ball, Fitz and the Tantrums, The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band, Mavis Staples, Anders Osborne, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit and many more.

Along with an amazing weekend of music, the Telluride Blues & Brews proudly presents the Grand Tasting Sat., Sept. 17, 2011. One of the premier beer tasting events in the Southwest, the Grand Tasting features more than 150 beers from over 50 microbreweries, including those from the Telluride Blues & Brews official beer sponsor, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company.

Additional Festival highlights include a wide variety of food and craft vendors, the Rainbow Kids area and Kid’s parade, Blues for Breakfast concerts, late night shows at local Juke Joints, and the Telluride Acoustic Blues Competition.

Overview: There is something for everyone at the Telluride Blues and Brews Fest, even kids. With a great kids area, they will never be bored and parents won't have to worry about ways to entertain them. Free acoustic concerts, "Blues for Breakfast," and the Telluride Acoustic Blues Camp are a few additional ways to enjoy the festival. 

Where: The festival is held at the Telluride Town Park Stage

When: a 3 day event held every year in September, two weeks after Labor Day weekend with live music running until about 8pm

Cost: Tickets for the "Juke Joints" are separate from the festival tickets, which are general admission and can be bought for the full 3 days or just for one day. If you want to camp, there are many different campsites nearby to choose from, but book your spot early as they tend to sell out quickly.

Details: From noon to 3pm on Saturday, the Grand Tasting takes center stage, as microbreweries pull out all the stops concocting their best brew in hopes of taking the honor of "cream of the barrel."

If you are still thirsty for some more brews and blues, the festival continues with late night jams at many of the "Juke Joints" around town. These joints are located all over town and the Mountain Village and offer more intimate venues to see classic blues performers.
