With the gondola opening for the season in mid-November, winter starts early in Telluride. There are many great activities to take advantage of when the snow starts to fly, so whether you are a skier, boarder, or neither you will find a fun activity to take part in during your stay in Telluride.
Telluride boasts one of the most picturesque towns in all of Colorado and there is no better way to take in its beauty than from atop the peaks of the San Juan Mountains. Even if you don't ski, take a trip to the top of the mountain for lunch or a quick snack. There are many other ways to enjoy the area; try snowmobiling, snowshoeing, dogsled tours, or even helicopter skiing. Also, check the calendar of events while you are in town, as there will very likely be a wonderful concert, festival, or speaker in town.
