Occurring the first weekend in October, Telluride's Oktoberfest is a great day filled with fun, food, and music. As winter rapidly approaches, Telluride celebrates the end of its "off season" with this festive Fall party.
Telluride's Oktoberfest kicks off around noon in the Mountain Village, as crowds gather in Heritage Square with big mugs, hearty appetites, and dancing shoes. If you are a big fan of beer, bratwurst, and polka music, then Oktoberfest is the place to be. This party is not all about the beer, though, so be sure to bring the whole family along. From brat eating contests to face painting, there are plenty of activities to get involved in. There is also pumpkin decorating and sidewalk art, and when you think you have seen it all, it's time to dance! Show off your moves and dance off the indulgences of the day to the sounds of the authentic polka band.
