New Years Eve Parade & Fireworks
As one of Telluride's greatest winter traditions, the New Years EveParade and Fireworks is sure to be a highlight during your stay. The area's festive atmosphere is at its height as the torchlightparade and fireworks light up the entire town.
To watch this exciting event, the crowds begin to gather all over Telluride around 6pm on New Years Eve. Grab some hot cocoa and watch from either the Mountain Village or town, as this great event is visible from pretty much anywhere. The festivities begin with an avalanche bomb signifying the start of the torchlight parade. Skiers glide down the "Misty Maiden" mountain on either side, torches in hand creating a marvelous spectacle. When the parade is over, an impressive display of fireworks explodes, illuminating everything below. There is no better way to celebrate the New Years holiday in Telluride than to take in this impressive tradition, so be sure to catch it if you can.
