Hard Rock 100 Endurance Race

The Hardrock Hundred Mile Endurance Run is something most people have never seen nor heard of. The Run is a 100 mile loop through the San Juan Mountains and all through southwest Colorado including Telluride.

Running the Hard Rock is certainly not for everyone, but volunteering or spectating are great ways to experience the race. This year the race will start in Silverton, go through the San Juan Mountains and Ophir, Telluride, Ouray and Sherman, all in Southwest Colorado.

The Hard Rock is a rugged two day running race that climbs mountains, crosses rivers and sends competitors up cliffs and through unstable rock sections. The race totals 100 miles and 33,000 feet in total elevation gain, the highest point at Handies Peak at 14, 048 feet. You may be glad that you are not running the Hard Rock Endurance race, but seeing this awesome exhibit of natural beauty and athleticism is well worth the trip.
