Freestyle Mogul Competition
The annual USSA Rocky Mountain Freestyle Telluride Southwest Open is a spectacle for all skiers and snowboarders. About 50 competitors, ages 8-18, from all over the region convene in Telluride to show off their bump skills. There is plenty to see as some of the areas best skiers rip up Telluride with two days of mogul competition and one of slopestyle.
The Southwest Freestyle Open at Telluride is a rare treat for visitors and locals alike. Rocky Mountain's best young athletes put on a freestyle show, each vying for prizes and bragging rights. The top male and female with the most combined points from both days of mogul competition win scholarship money for the Junior National Championship. The mogul competition is held on Lower Plunge and the slopestyle in the Air Garden, so there is plenty of viewing opportunity.
