1. Begin with a timeline for your getaway and include a list of must-see attractions. They can be found in the EXPLORE section. If you’re arriving and departing from the same spot, you may wish to split the attractions at that location between the beginning and ending days of your trip.

2. Based on the season you will arrive, you can explore the travel information available. Visiting in the summer or fall? Check out our guides and tours and the other summer recreation listings in the SUMMER section. If coming in the winter, you’ll find all you need in the WINTER section.

Telluride is located in the beautiful San Juan Mountains, on Highway 145, north of Durango and south of Montrose, Colorado.

What are the closest major cities and distances?
Durango, Colorado is located 111 miles south (about a 2-hour and 52 minute drive).
Pueblo, Colorado is 292 miles to the east (a 7-hour and 18 minute drive).
Colorado Springs, Colorado is located about 296 miles to the northeast (a drive of around 7 hours and 26 minutes).

Where are the closest airports and distances?
Only 10 minutes from Telluride, the Telluride Regional Airport is easy access to your vacation destination. Another airport you can fly into is the Montrose Regional Airport, a 70-mile scenic drive away. The airlines that service both Montrose and Telluride are American West, American, United and Continental.

What is the average temperature?
With an occasional chill breeze, the summer temperatures in the 70s are great for just shirtsleeves. Spring and fall bring highs in the 40s to 60s with lows in the 20s or 30s. Winter is cold, with temperatures ranging around freezing on the warmer days.
